Joseph Rodefer DeCamp
Cincinnati, Ohio, 1858-Boca Grande, Florida, 1923
Training in Cincinnati, he studied at the Munich Academy and at Polling with Frank Duveneck in 1878. Following the Duveneck boys, he lived in Florence and Venice from 1879 to 1883. Returning to America, he settled in Boston, displaying an affinity for Impressionism in the 1890s and joining the Ten American Painters in 1897, when his wife and children began to appear in his work in scenes of domestic life.
