Accessibility Programmes

Connections is the name we’ve given to Palazzo Strozzi’s accessibility scheme. The scheme consists in activities in which shared observation and involvement maximise participants’ potential for self-expression. Participants take their cue from the exhibits to develop free connections and sensory experiences that bolster and enrich different forms of communication.

The activities, which are designed for people with physical or mental health issues or cognitive disorders, are tailored to meet each group’s specific requirements. Before the activity, the timing and method of the visit are discussed in the course of a conversation over the telephone with the Education Department.

An encounter open to all health and social workers (educators, psychologists and therapists) is held at the beginning and end of each exhibition to present and assess the scheme devised for the current exhibition.

The activity is conducted on Monday and Thursday. Activity in Italian only.
