A series of appointments to explore Helen Frankenthaler’s artistic career and the context in which she worked. Four encounters to learn about the artist’s cultural landscape, friendships and relationships in 1960s-1980s New York; her relationship with the representatives of Abstract Expressionism (Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Lee Krasner); the story of her career through the images of great photographers; her fascination for painterly experimentation and the invention of the new technique of soak-stain (stain imbibition).

The meetings will be held in the Strozzina’s conference room.
