What happens when two colors come close to each other? Do they touch or keep their distance? Do they blend together or overlap without changing? In Mark Rothko’s works, the boundary between colors can be blurred or sharp, creating either a strong or a delicate contrast.
Where Two Colors Meet is the activity that Palazzo Strozzi offers for families with children aged 3 to 6. The activity begins in the rooms of the exhibition Rothko in Florence, where, through storytelling moments and sensory experiences, we observe the canvases of this great twentieth-century artist.
In the second part of the activity, held in the education room, we take inspiration from the artworks seen in the exhibition and experiment with colors to discover what happens when two colors touch.
Where Two Colors Meet is designed to be experienced together by adults and children: the exhibition thus becomes an opportunity to enjoy art in family.
The exhibition’s family activities are made possible thanks to the support of Gruppo Beyfin S.p.A.
