The Teenager Kit is an aid designed for young people aged 12 to 19 to use in the Anish Kapoor. Untrue Unreal exhibition either on their own or with others.
The Teenager Kit has the format of a small picture book and offers a series of insights, reflections and suggestions for approaching Anish Kapoor’s works through clear and accessible language. The pages of the Kit include information on the artist’s biography and the history of the works in the exhibition, all of which is accompanied by suggestions for reflection and activities to do in front of the sculptures or at home.
The Teenager Kit has been devised for young art enthusiasts, for the merely curious who have never tried visiting an art exhibition on their own, or for teenagers whose sole experience of art so far has been on a school outing. The Kit encourages teenagers to discover art as a personal event to be experienced either independently or in the company of friends.
The Teenager Kit is designed to be used independently in the exhibition rooms in Palazzo Strozzi and is available free of charge:
– the hardcopy version can be picked up at the Palazzo Strozzi ticket office;
– the digital version can be downloaded at home.
The Kit is a tool which encourages students to visit the exhibition on their own, but which can also be used to prepare a class visit. Teachers who would like to advise their students to use the kit and who seek further information may write directly to the Education Department.
The Teenager Kit is a Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi project.
