All in One

How many parts make up a body? Is it one single piece, or does it come together from a myriad of fragments? And what happens when some pieces are missing?

All in One is an activity at Palazzo Strozzi for families with children aged 3 to 6. The experience unfolds in two parts and invites participants to explore the theme of the fragment through storytelling, observation and experimentation.

The first part takes place in the rooms of the exhibition Broken. The Power of the Fragment. Through narration and sensory experiences, we look at what remains of sculptures that are now lost: heads, torsos, hands and feet—parts of incomplete bodies that, precisely because they are fragmented, tell fascinating stories and spark the imagination.

The second part takes place in the education room. Starting with identical parts of a whole, each participant is invited to shape their own “little piece”, choosing whether to make it into a small sculpture to be joined with the others, or an independent fragment open to infinite possibilities.

All in One is designed to be experienced together by adults and children: an opportunity to explore the exhibition, play with art and create new meanings together in family.
