Free Flowing: let’s dance!

Thursday 09 June 2022

16.00-17.00

On Thursday 9 June at 16.00 the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi will be hosting a special Free Flowing event – a scheme devised by Palazzo Strozzi in conjunction with Dance Well – Movement and Research for Parkinson’s devised to promote the inclusion of people suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

The group, accompanied by dancing teachers and museum educators, will be taking over the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi and forging a dialogue through dance with Refik Anadol’s large work entitled Machine Hallucination – Renaissance Dreams to create an experience relating people, the work of art and the space around them.

Observation of Machine Hallucinations – Renaissance Dreams is the starting point for a physical and emotional journey on which people are encouraged to listen to others, to listen to themselves and to express themselves. The result is a choral practice made of a series of individual yet interlinked movements, as though each gesture were part of a single organism comprising multiple parts situated within the space yet all equally important and vital.

Reservations are not required to attend the performance. The courtyard is open to the public free of charge.
