Nuances – Jeff Koons

Nuances is a scheme that Palazzo Strozzi has devised in conjunction with the Associazione Autismo Firenze for young people and adults with autistic spectrum disorders. The programme consists of activities designed to facilitate participants’ interaction with the works of art on display in the exhibition halls through visual and sensorial stimuli. Each activity is preceded by the despatch of material informing participants on the spaces and artworks to be addressed and by a chat allowing us to familiarise with the group’s characteristics.

To tie in with the Jeff Koons. Shine exhibition, Nuances proposes a new activity developed in collaboration with the artist Camilla Alberti, entitled I mangiamondo. After a visit to the exhibition to take inspiration from the works of Jeff Koons, participants are invited to take a tour of the exhibition and experience the sculpture themselves starting from broken or non-functioning objects that any child can bring from home. With the use of clay and other natural and artificial materials, everyone can give life to new three-dimensional objects which, like the works of Camilla Alberti, can take the forms of creatures or strange living organisms.

The preliminary encounter for caregivers is mandatory. The activities take place in person according to an established calendar and includes a maximum of 5 children (plus accompanying persons).
