Guided tours for universities – Anselm Kiefer. Fallen Angels For universities and art academies

The exhibition Anselm Kiefer. Fallen Angels represents an opportunity to come into direct contact with the art of one of the great masters of art of the last 50 years and his layered poetics, filled with references to 20th-century history, philosophy and literature.

The project offers an opportunity to discover recurring themes in Kiefer’s art through historical and recent works, as well as a new production specifically conceived for the Renaissance courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi.

The exhibition develops the theme of “fallen angels”-the struggle between good and evil-and declines, through the lens of history, mythology and mysticism, a path in which different eras and numerous cultural references intersect.

The visit dedicated to students of universities and art academies is articulated through several levels of reading: it ranges through the formal and material characteristics of Kiefer’s work, explores the more intellectual dimension, where relations with authors such as Antonin Artaud, Raymond Russel and James Joyce emerge, and finally intercepts more strictly biographical episodes of the artist.

The tour is articulated through the large canvas Engelssturz (Fall of the Angel) and continues through the rooms with settings on the Piano Nobile.
