Tours for schools – Donatello For all classes

To tie in with the Donatello, the Renaissance exhibition we have devised tours for schools to allow students to rediscover the beauty of observing works of art at first hand. The tours are structured on an interactive conversational basis and are tailored to cater for different age groups.

For kindergarten and primary schools

The tour focuses on a limited number of exhibits that are observed in an attentive and participatory manner. In the presence of sculptures by Donatello and other Renaissance artists, the children are called on to express their ideas and to perform a number of creative experiments designed to allow them to discover the different materials of art.

For lower and upper secondary schools

Tours for secondary school students are devised to introduce them to Donatello’s art and his innovative style, his experimentation with techniques, his influence on other artists and theirs on him. In the course of the tour, narrative moments alternate with room for discussion and debate. The tours concentrate on a selection of exhibits that become focal points for observation, dialogue and comparison, stimulating individual and group reflection.

Tours last an hour and a half and cost € 3 per student plus the price of admission to the exhibition (concession at € 5). Admission is free for children under the age of 6.

Tours comply with government regulations currently in force to contain the spread of  COVID-19. For further information please consult our web page Open in Safety.
