Open Space is a welcoming area designed for families visiting the Broken. The Power of the Fragment exhibition. Every Saturday afternoon, from 15.30 to 18.30, the rooms of the Maria Manetti Shrem Educational Center open up to offer a place to stop before or after your visit, with a big carpet of cushions and simple activities for anyone who wants to take a break.
The exhibition Broken. The Power of the Fragment presents what remains of sculptures from different civilizations, periods and places, alongside works by modern and contemporary artists who have found inspiration in the fragment. Inspired from the works on display, in Open Space families can play at assembling, taking apart and reassembling imaginative sculptures using small pieces of wood, combining shapes inspired by parts of the human body to create ever-changing organisms. The materials used in the sculptures — bronze, marble, terracotta and wood — as well as the stories found in the pages of picure books, offer further opportunities to discover that even from a small fragment, infinite possibilities can emerge.
Designed for children aged 0–6, Open Space welcomes visitors of all ages to rest, relax, and play.
The exhibition’s family activities are made possible thanks to the support of Gruppo Beyfin S.p.A.
